Legal support to unaccompanied minors, refugees and immigrants

Our office acts as legal advisor to  the «International Center for Sustainable Development» in Athens, which implements the project «Support and Reinforcement of Unaccompanied Minors 16+».

The program offers safe housing as well as a series of service that cover minors’ basic needs (education, health, psychosocial development, interpretation, etc), along with a proper level of care and guardianship. Emphasis is placed on setting goals, boosting self-esteem and self-preservation, developing personal interests, and embracing personal empowerment. The aim of this program is to enable participants’ smooth coming-of-age and ultimate integration into Greek society.

The main action that our office undertakes is the legal support and representation of the minors before the administration committees as well as before the competent courts.

We also advise them during the administrative process related to the application for International Protection, according to the current legal framework, the process of family reunification of the minors with their relatives, who live in other E.U. member states, as well as applying for asylum based on humanitarian reasons.

Moreover, in the scope of the above, we cooperate with a variety of professionals, such as social workers, project coordinators, psychologists, translators, and attorneys-at-law in Greece and other EU member-states.

Our legal practice is committed to the children’s best interest, and we try to safeguard the well-being of minors, regardless of their immigration status.
