Our office conducted a successful cross border mediation, in a family law case, in which the parties had different nationalities. The dispute between the parties included various legal actions in before national courts of multiple states. The parties agreed to try to bring their disputes before an accredited mediator. Cross-border mediation is very demanding because multiple legal systems are involved, and there is also a difference in culture, language, nationality and expectations. After a long period of negotiations and the performance of the right mediation techniques and methods the parties came to an agreement and signed the mediation agreement which successfully resolved their disputes.The mediation was conducted in English and the successful mediation agreement has been drafted in English and Greek.
